During the 2005 the town council administration of Fermo started new relationships with different European countries, in particular the Federal German Republic.
Since August 2006 the town council administration of Fermo has begun to make first agreements for new partnership with the town hall of Ansbach, administrative centre of Franconia, a region of the Republic of Bavaria.
On 12-13th August 2006 the Mayor of Fermo Saturnino Di Ruscio met the German delegation from Ansbach, headed by the German Mayor Ralf Felber.
An other important member of the Germa delegation was Astrid Halder who manages the international relationships of the town hall of Ansbach.
The visit of the German delegation was the opportunity to know the town of Fermo, its historical and cultural heritage and the richness of economic, touristic and gastronomical resources of the area of the new “provincia”.
The German Mayor Ralf Felber met other mayors of the towns in the area of Fermo as Falerone, Smerillo, Monte Vidon Corrado, Montegiorgio, during the visit of the territory.
